I am an architect in love with CI. I’ve been dancing CI since 2006, and teaching since 2008 in Russia and Europe. My teachers are Angela Doniy, Yaniv Mintzner, Ilona Kenova, Kris Leahner, Charlie Morrisey, Nancy Stark Smith, and others… Since 2014 I have been studying at the Institute for Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy with Linda Hartley (IBMT). Before CI I danced modern, jazz, contemporary, practiced yoga. Injury of the back, which occurred after many years of dancing, led me to CI. This made me look for a healing form of movement that gives power. I had to re-explore my body. I watched where my body blossomed and enjoyed. For now CI practice and somatic disciplines give me a sense of soft power. I love dance listening of my needs.

A covering quality of tissue layers

During the class, we will talk about spreaded load and why such a load is more easily transported by us. Somatically, we will work with connective tissues in the body and Tensegrity model. Clothing will represent connective tissue in the body to understand better how it works. So I invite you to wear long sleeve T-shirts in this class, we will work with it. Then we will bring our embodiment experience to dance with a partner. How this knowledge can help us to be lighter in many levels and layers.
